Trip Overview

“I was very impressed with Singita Explore,
and their perfect balance of attention to
hospitality, wildlife and setting. I will revisit
this special place as often as possible.”
--Safari Specialist Ryan Hilton

Encounter thousands of wildebeest during the migration in the plains, in continual movement west towards the tree-lines, the hills and the Grumeti River. Cameras clicking, hooves thundering on the ground, water splashing, animals grunting and calling. An amazing experience awaits at the Grumeti River.

Our partners at Singita have developed an exclusive mobile camp experience that treads lightly on 350,000 acres of Tanzania’s Serengeti, offering a pure, distilled wilderness experience.

Set at the fringe of a tree-line overlooking the vast Serengeti plains, our recommended four-night Singita Explore camp experience brings travelers closer to nature from the comfort of en-suite canvas hideaways. At the end of a long day in the field, return to a magical setting the celebrates the most basic elements.

From the mobile camp, continue onward for three nights at Faru Faru Lodge, also located within Singita Grumeti Reserves.  Inspired by a botanical theme, this riverside lodge offers barefoot elegance in a laid-back rustic setting.

Situated on a slope, basking in the abundance of animal species and birdlife around it, Singita Faru Faru Lodge lends a contemporary signature style to safari.

If it is solitude you seek, with the comforts of a world-class resort, then Singita Grumeti Reserves is the place to be!

Singita Grumeti Reserves

Singita Grumeti, situated adjacent to the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, is an integral part of the Serengeti-Mara Ecosystem, the home of the Great Migration. The reserve was created to protect the path of the annual wildebeest migration and the indigenous biodiversity of this vast and important ecosystem. Since 2006, Singita has managed the reserve, at the request of the concessionaire and began the task of generating, via low impact tourism, the funds necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability of the reserve through conservation and community partnerships.

Roaming Safari Camps in Northern Tanzania

Luxurious semi permanent tented camps proudly feature some of Tanzania's largest and most spacious mobile tents, each with double bed, ensuite bathroom, separate w.c., and romantic al fresco bucket shower (hot water delivered upon request). With a hint of Bedouin character, these tents boast custom made Indian rugs, crisp linens, sparkling crystal, and polished brass samovars and basins.
