Market to Table In Lima

Visit a local market where your guide will introduce their favorite vendors and facilitate discussion about seasonal and local ingredients, which will be used in this morning's class. 

Enjoy a pisco sour and learn about essential techniques and ingredients for Ceviches and Limas local tapas. Then the feast begins, tasting the ceviches and tapas that you prepared. 

Enjoy lunch with a view of Lima's beautiful coast.

Casa Aliaga, Lima

Reportedly the oldest home on the Continent and still family-owned after 17 generations.  Today, the house is in superb condition, exemplifying life in the Viceregal period. Marvel at the series of salons representing décor during the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. Explore the courtyard and chapel.

The Inca Ruins at Pisac

The site is located above the valley with stunning terracing following the contours of the hill. After spending time at the ruins, visit the village and famous market.

Machu Picchu on the Inca Trail

The original Gateway into Machu Picchu when approaching the site along the the Inca Trail, Inti Punku is the first point in the Inca Trail where the ruins of Machu Picchu are visible. The views of the site and surrounding landscape are superb.  This 2 1/2 hour moderate hike offers an optional approach to Machu PIcchu.

Join your guide in the Plaza de Armas to visit the main sights in the city centre before sojourning to the outskirts to view important Inca ruins. You will visit the highlights such as the Main Square, the Cathedral, Koricancha or Sun Temple, the Inca Ruins of Sacsayhuaman and the bustling San Pedro market.

  6. Visit Machu Picchu [B,L]

    You and your guide will take the Vistadome train from Ollanta train station to Aguas Calientes train station. Then, you will catch a mini bus for the final 30 minute ride uphill to the site. These are shuttle buses that leave/arrive the site every half hour. Enjoy a 2-3 hour guided visit of Machu Picchu and then, a buffet lunch at Sanctuary Lodge. Later, take one of the shuttle buses back down to Aguas Calientes.

  7. Explore Machu Picchu [B,L,D]

    Today your entrance ticket to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu and buses are included. If one day is simply not long enough at Machu Picchu, we offer a second day to be enjoyed with your guide. Choose from four excursions depending on your fitness level and how long you want to be outside.
