Boulders Beach in Simons Town is home to a unique and endangered land-based colony of African Penguins. The beach itself ideal for families and children as immense boulders shelter the cove from currents, wind and large waves. The Penguin Colony is one of only a few in the world, and has become a famously popular site consisting of three pristine beaches, one penguin viewing area and three scenic boardwalks.

Londolozi Game Reserve

Widely respected as South Africa's first eco-safari lodge, Londolozi treats guests to an authentic wild experience against the backdrop of a world-class Relais & Châteaux resort.  Breeding herds of elephant and buffalo roam throughout the Londolozi area, with high concentrations of white rhino and lion. But viewing Londolozi's famous wild, free ranging leopards is one of life’s truly treasured experiences.

Itinerary

  1. Arrive in Cape Town

    Upon arrival into Cape Town (CPT) Airport you will be met by your guide and assisted with luggage for a private road transfer to The One&Only Cape Town. After a welcome drink and check-in formalities, enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure in Cape Town.

  2. Full Day Table Mountain and City [B]

    This morning after breakfast you will meet your guide in the lobby for a full day of privately guided touring.

    Ascend Table Mountain, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World by 360° high speed cable car and take in what is known as 'one of the most beautiful views in the world'.

    After making your back down the mountain, enjoy a full day tour of "The Mother City" past, present and future.

    Return to the One&Only for an evening at leisure after a full day of touring.

  3. Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour [B,L]

    This morning after breakfast you will meet your guide in the lobby for a full day of privately guided touring.

    Journey along the picturesque coastline via Chapman's Peak as you make your way to The Cape of Good Hope with stops en route.

    As you make your way back to the city, stop off to see the Penguins at Boulders Beach followed by a late seaside lunch in Kalk Bay.

    Return to the One&Only for an evening at leisure after a full day of touring.

  4. Explore [B]

    With so much to see and do throughout the city, take advantage of a day at leisure to catch up on rest, explore the hustle and bustle of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, visit Camps Bay, the Winelands, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, take a tour of Robben Island, go deep sea fishing or choose from a nearly endless list of other activities from the city that has something for everyone.  

  5. Transfer to Londolozi [B,L,D]

    Checkout of the One&Only and return to Cape Town (CPT) Airport for scheduled flight to Skukuza (SZK) Airport and onward road transfer to Londolozi Private Game Reserve where you will spend the next 4 nights on a fully inclusive basis at Varty Camp.

  6. On Safari at Londolozi Varty Camp [B,L,D]

    No two days are the same at Londolozi and every experience is tailor-made to suit individual preferences and expectations. However, there is a certain rhythm and pace to the experience that stirs a sense of homecoming on repeat visits and a pleasant sense of order for first time bushveld visitors.

     

  7. On Safari at Londolozi Varty Camp [B,L,D]

    Great flexibility is granted as desired, but an ideal daily schedule will include morning and evening game drives with time at leisure in the afternoon to spend as you prefer - a guided walk, yoga, spa treatment, quiet rest and observation on your own, etc.

  8. On Safari at Londolozi Varty Camp [B,L,D]

    Last full day on safari so make the most of it. If you have not already done so, you may want to consider a bush walk, visit to the village, game of Rugby with the staff or perhaps simply enjoy some down time at the spa.

  9. Departures [B]

    Checkout for road transfer to Skukuza (SZK) Airport and onward scheduled flight to Johannesburg (JNB) Airport. Upon arrival you collect your luggage and make your way to the international departures hall for check-in to your outbound international flight.

Varty Camp is the home of an African safari holiday. All rooms have private swimming pools framed by timber decks that overlook the riverine bush. The living spaces are raised off the ground and shaded under a cathedral of trees. The camp has a pleasingly down-to-earth quality and the emphasis on family heritage means that children of all ages always have a place at Varty Camp.

Varty Camp is also home to the original Sparta Hunting Camp, our boutique, the Cardio Vascular Room, Massage Treatment Room and our Library. Guests from all Camps are invited to make use of these facilities.
