Fare includes 6 nights accommodation; roundtrip light aircraft transfer from Lusaka to Chiawa; breakfast daily throughout and all meals; teas/coffees/soft drinks/local brand spirits; laundry; nature walks, twice daily game drives and other activities while on safari; ground transfers.

Trip Overview

There is nothing quite like drifting down the Mighty Zambezi River, rod in hand, hippos and crocodiles basking on the sandbars...An African Fish Eagle wheels overhead and a herd of elephant drink at the water's edge. Then, tap tap tap on your line, tug, whine, strike and the breaching tail walk of the beautiful Tigerfish.

With assistance from internationally acclaimed adventure travel specialist Betsy Donley, travelers can expect to tap her in-depth fly-fishing knowledge and global understanding of the world's great fishing destinations in one of the strongest safari destinations on the African continent.

Fisherman will experience very productive waters in the professional and capable hands of the Chiawa Camp's guiding team whom are consistently rated among the best on the continent and know the local waters intimately.

Guests on this program can expect to spend the majority of their time fishing; however an unmatched variety of activities are available at Chiawa Camp for non-fishing participants as well as to add variety to the flyfishing experience.

The Lower Zambezi National Park

Enjoy Chiawa’s renowned cuisine on an al-fresco dining veranda. In the heat of the day take a dip in the refreshing plunge pool, complete with sundeck, overlooking the Zambezi of course. After dinner, retire to the campfire and enjoy a cocktail or two while taking in the sounds and magic of the African night.
