Classic Egypt: Alexandria, Cairo and the Nile

10 Day Land Program and Nile River Cruise
Alexandria, Cairo, Luxor, Aswan

Join Travel + Leisure-recommended Egypt Specialist Malaka Hilton on a small group tour, limited to only 10 - 20 travelers.

Enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Alexandria, known as the setting for the stormy relationship between Cleopatra and Mark Antony. The city was founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC and came to be regarded as the center of learning in the ancient world.
Tour important historical and cultural sights of Alexandria with your private Egyptologist, including the National Museum, the Royal Jewelry Museum which houses the greatest treasures from Egyptian Royal history, the Catacombs which are the largest known Roman burial site in Egypt and the Alexandria Library.
View current excavations by special arrangement for private access at The Temple of Taposiris Magna near Alamein area. The temple was built in the Ptolemy era and finished the construction of Alexandria. Dedicated to Osiris, the outer wall and pylos remain from the temple, and there is evidence that sacred animals were worshipped there.
An excursion to Abu Simbel to view two temples of Ramses II is the climactic finish to your Nile River cruise. Famed as the most impressive monuments remaining of Ancient Egypt in modern times, they were relocated to a new position when threatened by the waters of Lake Nasser.
